Peek A Boo Poker is an adult strip poker game created by Panesian. The premise is to play a game of poker, and after earning sufficient money, the girl poses in an erotic fasion. There are five poses per girl and three girls to choose from. This FAQ will help you with poker basics and tips, as well as lay out how to play the game. I'm writing this FAQ in support of the NES FAQ Completion Project, which strives for a complete FAQ for every NES game. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ /_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\ | | | 2. Start - Begin game. In-game: Down/Up - Choose bet/pass/drop. Right/Left - Increase/Decrease bet, move between cards. A - Confirm bet/pass/drop, choose card to switch out, cash in. B - Cancel card switch out. Start - Confirm card switch. ================== Object of the Game ================== While you can claim you're just satisfying a poker fix, the point of the game is to get nude shots of the girls. To accomplish this you play a "strip poker" game with each girl in an attempt to make them reveal these shots. You need to accumulate $1000 in order to see the first shot. Each successive shot comes after reaching $2000, $3000, $4000, and the final one at $5000. You can play three different girls: Full House Francine, Pok-er Penny, and Double-Dealing Debbie. =================== Tips and Stratagies =================== (See Poker Basics for any clarification on what I'm talking about) There are two different stratagies you can consider using: 1. Quick & fast, high risk, high reward. This strategy is used if you just want to progress quickly, as the high betting amounts lead to larger pots. However there is a risk of going downhill just as fast as you go up, so choose this option at your discretion. - In this stratagy you open with a high bet (usually 90). Unless you get a good opening hand, you're usually bluffing. This high opening bet increases the chance of a fold by your opponent. - Hope to get lucky when you turn in cards. Stay away from straights and flushes if using this strategy because your chances of success are smaller and you already risked a lot. - If you hit a high pair (Jack or up) or anything better than that, I recommend to continue with your hand. If you hit only a small pair, it's up to you if you want to fold or continue. If nothing turned up after switching, just chalk it up as a loss to avoid further damage. - Bet high again on your last bet to try to steal a fold, and then hope your hand won. From experience, the opponent usually turns up with a pair of some sort so your chances are good of getting a victory. If your opponent is raising you in the final hand after you bet high, you might want to back off if you have a weaker hand. While the opponent sometimes bluffs, this is also an indication of a straight draw. 2. Slow and steady This is a strategy used if you don't mind being patient. I don't use this strategy myself just because it takes forever to get 1000 points and get a new pose. This is mostly a good strategy for real life poker when you want to outlast others. - Make your first bet based on your opening hand. If you have nothing, just make a small bet. If you got a good pair or straight draw, consider a higher bet. Using this method you will lose less if your bad hands don't get better after switching cards. - After switching out, bet low with pairs or two-pair, and higher on anything else you got. - In this strategy you aren't likely to go in one direction too fast, so an occasional bluff isn't a bad idea, just try to do it with an ace high so you have something half-decent to fall on. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ /_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\ | | | 3. Bet - Put money on your cards. Bluff - When someone bets without having a good hand. Check - Match the previous bet. Deck - All 52 cards. Fold - Give up the hand. Hand - The five cards the player is holding. Pass - Move the bet to the next player. Pot - The total value of all bets and antes. Raise - Increase the size of the bet. ================ Game Progression ================ Peek A Boo Poker is a special form of five card draw. The order of play goes as follows: 1. Both players put in their ante. (Always 10 in this game) 2. Both players receive five cards. 3. You can choose to bet or pass. -If you bet, the opponent can raise, check, or fold. -If your opponent then raises, you can check or fold. -If you pass, your opponent can bet or fold. -If your opponent bets, you can check or fold. 4. After betting, you can choose any cards you want to trade out. (Unlike normal 5 card draw, you can switch out all 5 cards) 5. Players receive trade-in cards from deck. 6. Repeat betting process. 7. Players show their hands and the best hand collects the pot. ============== Winning a Hand ============== The following is what beats what in each hand. The list goes from best possible hand, to worst possible: 1. Royal Flush - A straight draw of 10-J-Q-K-A all in the same suit. 2. Straight Flush - Five cards that are in order with same suit. Ex: 2-3-4-5-6, all Hearts 3. Four-of-a-Kind - Four of the same card. Ex: J-J-J-J-5 4. Full House - Both a pair and a three-of-a-kind. Ex: 4-4-8-8-8 5. Flush - All five cards the same suit. Ex: 2-J-4-7-9, all Clubs. 6. Straight - Five cards in a row. Ex: 8-9-10-J-Q 7. Three-of-a-Kind - Three of the same cards. Ex: 3-3-3-A-6 8. Two-Pair - Two seperate pairs of cards. Ex: 7-7-K-K-6 9. Pair - Two of the same card. Ex: Q-Q-5-8-3 10. High Card - If you and your opponent have none of the above combinations, the player with the highest card in their hand wins. (Ex: Ace beats a 10) In the case that both players are on the same level (Ex: both of you have a pair) the player with higher numbered card in the combination wins (IE: a pair of 6's beats a pair of 5's). The best card is an Ace, then King, then Queen, then Jack, and then the numbered cards. If both players have a straight, the straight that ends on the highest card is the better straight. (Ex: 7-8-9-10-J would beat 5-6-7-8-9) If both players end with the exact same best hand (both have a pair of Kings), then the player with the additional high card wins the hand. So if you and the opponent both have two kings, and your other three cards are 6-8-J and her cards are 3-6-8, you would win because your Jack is the highest card remaining. (Note: I do not know what happens if both players get the same straight, I have not encountered this in the game) _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ /_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\_/_\ | | | 4.
