  Solomon's Key 5/10/2021

Wasn't expecting this, but OK. From Inverse:

One fascinating aspect of games in the NES and SNES era is how they can throw wildly varying concepts together, letting the player figure out how they all mesh. Starfox is a great example: What if ancient Japanese folk gods suddenly became starship fighters? The 1986 Tecmo game Solomon's Key is another: It combines elements as far-ranging as Dungeons & Dragons, the Bible, and the fundamental works of Taoism to create a fascinating and very difficult puzzle game.

  Obscure Peripherals for $200 5/9/2021

Well there are some obscure NES peripherals, and then there's this.

From the article: The Miya 2000 is a gaming peripheral for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It was made in 1991 by a company called Miya Epoch, a group that made home golfing simulators and fishing tech. The Miya 2000 was made for one game (Jack Nicklaus' greatest 18 Holes of Major Championship Golf). Its use? You use a real golf club and ball to play.

  From Gamespot:

The Nintendo Store is selling refurbished units of the retro console for $50, which is a great price considering the NES Classic routinely sells for more on eBay. Considering you typically can only get the NES Classic from third-party sellers, we imagine the Nintendo Store will sell out fairly quickly.

Looks like Noah's Ark is available on Steam. From PC Gamer:

The good news is that if you've ever harboured a desire to play Noah's Ark, it's on Steam right now. It looks like a fairly straightforward port with no bells and whistles: it vigilantly maintains its old 4:3 aspect ratio, and there's not much evidence of any other improvements or changes, save the box art now adorning the sides of the 4:3 gameplay window.

Hands down one of the most enjoyable things about keeping this site running is getting the occasional email from people who are still playing and enjoying the NES - someone who was looking for hard to find information, searching for a code, etc.

Even more enjoyable and rare than that is when we get some kind of brand new content - the rare new FAQ or a previously-lost ad. With that in mind I'm happy to note that Kenny Tritch has created and submitted two new Game Genie codes for Krazy Kreatures. They've been added to the Krazy Kreatures page for consumption.

Thanks, Kenny!
